The Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) methodology has emerged as a response to this. However, there is a research gap on the applications and results of VDC specifically in hospital projects. This study focuses on how the implementation of VDC influenced the results of the hospital project in the construction phase and its monitoring through metrics, using on-site observations, document analysis, and unstructured interviews as sources of evidence. Among the results, a 22% reduction in the time for dismantling the tower crane was achieved, a 24% reduction in the time for constructing the structural shell, and a saving of 25,000-man hours in the formwork, steel, and concrete items.
