The paper also presents the key concepts on strategic management and industry structure analysis. It discusses the implications on the implementation of lean construction with regard to a firm’s strategic planning as well as to the conditions for the industry to lesser the barriers for lean construction implementation. Finally, the paper describes the objectives and anticipated contributions of current research conducted at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute involving strategic issues in lean construction.
