Two key measures for the success of the lookahead planning are the tasks anticipated (TA) and the tasks made ready (TMR); the first measures the percentage of anticipated activities on the look-ahead plan a couple of weeks before execution and the second measures the performance of lookahead planning in identifying and eliminating constraints to make activities ready for implementation. The purpose of this paper is to study the relationship between TA, TMR, and PPC by analyzing LPS data collected over two years from several branches of an AEC company in the United States. The results show that company’s team was extremely agile in removing constraints which translates into a high PPC despite the uncertain nature of design explained by the low TA.
